### The Daily Log for Sunday, April 13, 2025 This day has been filled with mistakes and misdeeds. I am in need of a reset. ##### What am I thinking: I belong to a number of crafting Reddits and I've noticed that a lot of people are looking for specific tutorial, like for a particular pattern or item and not for a *method*. Do people get into a craft and not just try things out anymore? Like, if you want to bead / crochet / knit / paint something, just kind of try it and see if you can figure it out. Tutorials are great for methods or techniques, but why would people always want one for something specific like "this one pattern I found on Pinterest"? Weird. Why are you even doing this? It reminds me of Stephen King (stay with me) talking about his son (don't remember which one) wanting to play the saxophone but when he took lessons and notices the kid wasn't trying new things or reaching for it outside his mandated practice time, that's when he knew that it would be okay to not continue with the sax.
